Free lunches for kids in Mundelein

Hungry kids can get free lunches this summer at two Mundelein parks. Meals will be served at Hanrahan Park, which is on Noel Drive near Countryside Highway, and Gordon Ray Park, which is on Rays Lake west of Ridge Avenue.

Meals will be available every weekday between noon and 1 p.m., or until supplies run out. There won't be service July 4.

The meals are provided each day by the Northern Illinois Food Bank and served by volunteers. Costs are covered by a federal summer food program. Anyone 18 or younger can participate. No ID is needed. Meals must be consumed on site.
