Aurora police: Westmont motorcyclist died Saturday after hitting truck

A Westmont motorcyclist died Saturday night in Aurora after he drove through a stop sign and crashed into a truck, according to police.

John Schwickert, 54, died from his injuries at a hospital.

Officers responded about 7:25 p.m. to the area of Illinois Avenue and View Street on the city's west side. Witnesses said Schwickert, who was driving a 2017 Harley-Davidson Road Glide, was speeding east on Illinois when he drove through a stop sign and rear-ended a 2007 Chevy pickup, police said.
