Weber believes grilling skills can be taught

Only Chicago can bring you snow during spring. But now it's time to enjoy the summer and start doing some grilling. Who better to help you with that than Weber Grill Restaurants?

Weber Grill Restaurants are the result of more than five decades of classic outdoor grilling from the people who invented the Weber charcoal grill. Diners taste the difference that decades of grilling expertise make when they visit the three family-owned Weber Grill Restaurants — located in Schaumburg, Lombard and Chicago, giving Chicago area residents that wonderful experience of outdoor grilling year-round.

Weber Grill Restaurants offer delicious kettle-grilled steaks and seafood, classic barbecue, award-winning burgers and fresh salads. In addition, you can pair this grilled food with Weber's homemade herb-infused bourbon, refreshing sangrias, handcrafted cocktails, wine by the glass and local craft beers. Weber's menu showcases its commitment to high-quality ingredients, innovative recipes and expert grilling techniques.

Beyond offering diners the taste of backyard grilling from experts, the restaurants offer even more opportunities to experience the brand's iconic sizzle. Weber Grill Academies has cooking schools around the world dedicated solely to grilling. They can be found in Paris, Berlin, Tokyo and Chile, as well as right here in the Chicago area with locations in Schaumburg and Lombard.

“Our love of grilling spans decades, and we enjoy sharing our extensive knowledge on the subject and have a lot of fun teaching others about the art and skill of grilling,” says Matt McCormick, Weber Grill Restaurants executive chef.

Perfect for all who want to improve their grilling skills, the Weber Grill Academies are custom-designed facilities dedicated to outdoor cooking. Built on the restaurant's patios, they host regularly scheduled, themed, public grilling classes rain or shine, including hands-on or demonstration-only, interactive dining and friendly cooking competitions.

Weber Grill experts teach a variety of classes for students at any grilling experience level, from the basics of grilling, to the most advanced smoking methods. The Grill Academy offers everything from female-friendly “Ladies Night Out” and the family-friendly “Parents and Kids,” to “Grate Grilled Pizza,” “Backyard Classics” and “American BBQ.”

The academy also accommodates interactive chef's dining tables, private parties and corporate team-building events like burger battles, all of which can be custom-tailored to your needs.

The new Lombard Weber Grill Academy will seat 20 to 30 guests per class on a patio that overlooks a beautiful reflection pond. For more information on upcoming classes at the Lombard location, visit www.webergrillrestaurant.com/lombard-events.

If you don't want to do any cooking and just want to enjoy the food from Weber Grill, but at your own home, the company can accommodate that with its Weber on Wheels (WOW) catering service. WOW will bring the party right to your backyard or office, handling all of your needs. It is perfect for backyard parties, graduations, outdoor weddings, company picnics and family reunions. For more information on WOW and catering, visit www.webergrillrestaurant.com/catering-events.

“On-site grilling parties are an action station component for your catered event,” says Lauren Rullo, sales and marketing manager for Weber on Wheels and the Lombard restaurant. “We bring out grilling experts, who cook on our 36-inch diameter charcoal grills, and produce fire-inspired cooking in your backyard.”

Services range from party platters to full-service event catering with on-site grilling packages like a build-your-own-burger bar, a Smokey Joe's barbecue party and more.

“Your event will be the talk of the town as we bring the same menu from the restaurants to your home, office or park,” Rullo says.
