Spring Grove man charged with murder

A 47-year-old Spring Grove man has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder after a body was found in a home on the 11100 block of Serenity Path in Spring Grove, according to the McHenry County sheriff's office.

Around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, sheriff's deputies, who were called to assist the fire department, found John Maki Jr. inside the residence with the body of a male victim, a news release issued Thursday said.

Maki Jr.'s next court date is scheduled for 8 a.m. Friday.
