New principal at Holmes Junior High in Mount Prospect

Mark Rasar has been appointed the new principal of Holmes Junior High School in Mount Prospect starting this summer.

His $120,045-a-year appointment was approved this week by the Elk Grove Township Elementary District 59 school board. Rasar has been associate principal at Jacobs High School in Algonquin since 2016, and spent two years as principal for Lincoln Junior High School in Skokie/Morton Grove Elementary District 69. He also served as that district's coordinator of curriculum and instruction and worked for North Park University as an affiliated faculty member and for Chicago Public Schools as coordinator of logistics and assessment.

Rasar completed his educational leadership certification at North Park in 2011.

His new position begins July 1.
