Meet AID's new president and CEO Lore Baker

The Association for Individual Development will host an open house to meet with Lore Baker, AID president and CEO, from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday May 16, at the AID Aurora Community Day Services location, 309 New Indian Trail Court, and also from 7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 23, at the AID Elgin Community Day Services location, 1135 Bowes Road.

Baker brings nearly 20 years of experience in services and housing for individuals with various disabilities.

Prior to her tenure at AID, Lore was the Illinois Statewide Housing and Employment First Coordinator.

In this capacity, she worked closely with the Developmental Disabilities, Mental Health, and Rehabilitation Services Divisions of state government, as well as Health Care and Family Services, Commerce and Economic Opportunity and the State Board of Education.

This informational event is open to the public and will benefit individuals and families currently enrolled in AID programs, as well as those looking to participate in AID services, plan for the future.

Representatives from local special recreation associations and the National Alliance on Mental Illness, special needs attorneys and additional AID staff will also be in attendance to answer questions from the public.

AID works with individuals with physical, developmental, intellectual and mental health challenges to enjoy lives of dignity and purpose.
