Glen Ellyn man charged with sex assault, robbery
A Glen Ellyn man accused of sexually assaulting a woman early Friday morning in Glendale Heights is now in custody, officials said.
Kenneth W. Hatlen, 52, was arrested Saturday on charges of aggravated criminal sexual assault, robbery and aggravated battery, according to a news release from the Glendale Heights Police Department.
Officers were called for a report of an assault about 5:15 a.m. Friday on the 700 block of North Avenue, the release said. The victim told police Hatlen - whom she knew from previous contact - approached her and demanded money but, when she declined, he dragged her away, and punched, choked and sexually assaulted her, then fled, according to the release.
Hatlen is being held in the DuPage County jail awaiting bond court.
