Palatine Park District And West Suburban Bass Anglers Present Annual Fishing Derby
Bring the whole family for a day of fishing at Palatine Park District and West Suburban Bass Anglers' Fishing Derby, Saturday, May 18 from 8:00am-12:00pm at Plum Grove Reservoir, Algonquin Road near Harper College, Palatine. Fee is $5 per person, cash only, which is payable at the event. No pre-registration is required.
According to Todd Ranum, Palatine Park District Athletic Coordinator, the Fishing Derby has been taking place since 1991. "It's great to see the families that come out to enjoy fishing, especially grandpa or grandma with grandkids," Ranum said.
Ranum explained Plum Grove Reservoir is stocked with bass, catfish, and panfish (bluegill) and the derby is strictly "catch and release." Various fishing related prizes are being sponsored by Parkside Lending, Partners Real Estate, and Salmon Shop & The Great Outdoors Inc.
