Term limits a good start toward fixing Congress

I read most of the letters to the editor regarding the Mueller Report. I'm not surprised by the strong feelings on both sides. But, is anyone surprised by the corruption within our government?

Our lawmakers exempt themselves from Social Security, health care, equal employment laws, etc. that they write. They plot (both sides) to use all means to get or maintain power.

Meanwhile, issues like immigration, infrastructure, security, trade and the national debt go unattended to.

I don't pretend to know the answer, but a constitutional amendment limiting terms to 12 years prohibiting exemptions from laws and balancing the budget might be a good start.
