Annual Tourism Luncheon Celebrates Chicago's North Shore

In recognition of the 36th annual National Travel and Tourism Week (May 5 through May 11), Chicago's North Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau (CNSCVB) will be hosting a luncheon on Thursday, May 9th at Tree Top at Ravinia Festival in Highland Park. Tickets for the luncheon, which celebrates the men and women who bring the North Shore's travel and tourism industry to life, are $50 each. A table of 10 is $450.

Tourism is vital to the economic vitality of Chicago's North Shore. Visitor dollars help support local hotels, restaurants, retailers and attractions, and the taxes that result from these expenditures are important in funding economic development throughout the North Shore. The travel and tourism industry creates and supports 15.6 million jobs across the U.S., making it the 7th largest private sector employer. In fact, one in every 10 jobs is in the travel and tourism industry!

This year's luncheon keynote speaker is Joe Veneto, Chief Experience Officer of Veneto Collaboratory, who will be presenting Engineering Unforgettable Visitor Experiences. As Joe states when describing his presentation, "Today's travelers are experience junkies and want unique, local, authentic experiences when they travel that connects them to the heart and soul of destinations, as well as attractions. To thrive in today's highly-competitive global marketplace, organizations must design, develop and consistently deliver unforgettable customer experiences that create loyalty and life-long value."
