Catholic Charities Lake County Signature Event Celebrates 30 Years

The Women's Board of Catholic Charities, Lake County Services and Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of Chicago President Monsignor Michael Boland cohosted the 30th anniversary celebration of Catholic Charities' largest fundraiser in Lake County, the Art of Caring.

Held on the property of Lake Forest Academy, in the beautifully historic Armour House Mansion and Gardens, over 200 guests partook of cocktails, gourmet sit-down dinner, live auction, paddle raise and dancing into the wee hours, all to raise funds for critical programs and services for the neediest in Lake County.

"We exceeded our expectations," said Associate Director of Development for Catholic Charities in Lake County Karen Daniels. "Our gracious donors and sponsors continually recognize the significance of our work in Lake County and we raised over $380,000 through this event alone."

"Our group of volunteers from our Women's Board were phenomenal," noted Nadine Shepard, who co-chaired the Art of Caring with Sondra Adam, both from Lake Forest. "We are eternally indebted to them for helping bring this celebration of the Women's Board's 30th anniversary and this event to life."

Honorary Chaircouple Ann and Mike Patterson, longtime supporters of Catholic Charities, were thrilled to be able to participate in this manner. "We have such great affection for Catholic Charities and are happy to support an organization that does so much for so many in need."
