Recycling events May 18 in Vernon Hills

Dual recycling events will be held in Vernon Hills on Saturday, May 18.

Electronics can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to noon in the parking lot outside the former Sears store at Hawthorn Mall, routes 21 and 60. Monitors, laptops, CD/DVD players, printers, computer towers and more will be accepted. Gently used shoes, clothing, textiles and stuffed animals also will be accepted. Paper shredding is also offered, limit two boxes per car.

From 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. a household chemical waste collection will be held at the Metra station parking lot, Route 45 and Ranney Drive. For accepted items and other details, visit www.swalco.org or call (847) 336-9340.
