Past Dundee Lions president receives prestigious award from Lions International

Jim McClung, past president of the Dundee Township Lions Club, recently was awarded the International President's Certificate of Appreciation.

This prestigious award is the fourth highest honor bestowed by Lions Clubs International. He received the award during the Lions Spring District Convention.

Presenting the award to McClung was Lions District Governor, Susan Galvez and Past Lions International Board Member, Steven Trema. McClung is a four-time president of the Dundee Lions.

McClung said, "It's a great honor but the award was obtained because of all the efforts of the club members and the community support."

The Lions main focus is serving the visually and hearing impaired. Lions also support a variety of community charities. A few of the charities include: Boys and Girls Club of Dundee Township, Cub Pack 36, FISH Food Pantry in Carpentersville, and the Community Crisis Center in Elgin.
