Earth Day celebration at Hawthorn Mall April 20
Earth Day and eco-friendly activities will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at Hawthorn Mall, routes 21 and 60 in Vernon Hills.
The event, sponsored by the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County, features crafts, a raffle, face painting, a sing along and more. A "Concert to Celebrate the Earth" live performance by In the Green Productions will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on the lower level near Yu Kids Island.
Bring unwanted shoes, new/unused travel sized toiletries and plastic grocery bags. All shoes will be donated to SWALCO, and toiletries to PADS of Lake County.
