PAFA Tackle Football Registration Open Now Through May 1, 2019

Registration is now open for the 2019 Palatine Panther Tackle Football Season, which is sponsored by the Palatine Amateur Football Association, more commonly known as PAFA. PAFA Tackle is open to boys and girls entering 3rd through 8th grades this coming fall; registration for the upcoming season ends May 1, 2019.

The league has a primary focus on safety, teamwork, fundamentals and fun. All PAFA coaches are fully certified through USA Football and practice the 'Heads Up' Football Technique, which addresses key safety issues that are utilized both during practices and in games. This technique was developed with guidance from sport and medicine experts across the U.S. For more information, please visit usafootball.com.

"We are fortunate to live in an amazing community that is rich in football history; PAFA is such a strong organization due to the families and coaches that are involved-both past and present," said Frank Stark, PAFA president. "It is truly amazing to see these kids, their families, and the lasting relationships that result from being a part of PAFA. It's more than just football, it's a culture built on safety, teamwork, hard work and working together."

There are five different divisions within PAFA, including 9U (players entering 4th grade this fall), 10U (players entering 5th grade this fall), 11U (players entering 6th grade this fall), Junior Varsity (players entering 7th grade this fall) and Varsity (players entering 8th grade this fall).

Strength and agility training at downtown Palatine's Ball 4 Training facility (345 Eric Drive), is included with registration and will be held over the summer on alternating weekdays depending on the player's division, beginning Wednesday, June 5 and running through Friday, July 26.

Other important dates include PAFA equipment handout day on Wednesday, July 10, with a second equipment handout on Monday, July 29-which also is the first day of league practice. Practices are normally three weekday nights (depending on division) from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Games begin around Labor Day (home and away) and are held on Saturdays or Sundays; the upcoming season's game schedule has not yet been announced, and will be published on the PAFA website.
