After a one-day delay due to bad weather, the White Sox are ready to open the home portion of their schedule. The Sox went 2-3 at Kansas City/Cleveland to start the season. Heading into Thursday's play, White Sox third baseman Yoan Moncada ranked second in the American League with a .450 batting average. First baseman/DH Yonder Alonso was tied for first with 7 walks. At 8.31, the Sox's bullpen had the highest ERA in the American League through Wednesday's play. Shortstop Tim Anderson is expected to be back in the lineup after being reinstated from the paternity List. Anderson missed both games in Cleveland, On Thursday, the White Sox activated reliever Ian Hamilton (shoulder) from the injury list and optioned Dylan Covey to Class AAA Charlotte. At 7-1, the Mariners are off to the best start in baseball. Led by Domingo Santana, Tim Beckham and Jay Bruce, Seattle has hit 17 home runs and scored 56 runs in eight games.
