Bloomingdale Art Association to host spring exhibit

The Bloomingdale Art Association has announced its April and May programs, as well as its spring exhibit, at the Bloomingdale Park District Museum, 108 S. Bloomingdale Road.
At 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, there will be a " Hummingbird Paint & Sip" by Nicole Javvaji, a members only program. Contact Bev at bpetrosius@gmail.com or (630) 624-9545 for membership information.
At 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, Patty Eagleton will present the "Folded Book Art" at the museum. She will show how to transform an old hardcover book into a beautiful heart design work of art. There is a $10 visitor fee. Bring an old hardcover book (with a minimum of 300 pages) and a pencil or pen. The perfect book size is 8½-by-5¾ inches. Eagleton has been a member of the art association since 2002, and loves arts and crafts, including photography, mosaics and glass. She shared her love of arts and crafts with young adults with special needs at Western DuPage Special Recreation Association and is currently involved in its visiting artist program.
The Bloomingdale Artists Association 2019 Spring Exhibit and Silent Auction will be May 18-June 15 at the museum. Exhibit hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays/Fridays; and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
Artwork created by members of the Bloomingdale Artists Association features a diversity of talent and artistic media. Selected works will be offered for sale; negotiation/delivery details will be handled by the artists. The silent auction funds the 2020 scholarship.
