AfterImage Film Festival brings CatVideoFest 2019 to St. Charles

The AfterImage Film Festival is partnering with Anderson Animal Shelter to bring CatVideoFest 2019 to the Charlestowne 18 Cinema on Sunday, March 31.

It is a compilation reel of the latest and best cat videos culled from countless hours of unique submissions, animations, music videos, and, of course, classic internet powerhouses.

This communal experience, only available in theaters, raises money for cats in need. A portion of every ticket sold will support Anderson Animal Shelter.

CatVideoFest recently screened at Chicago's Music Box Theatre where it drew more than 1,500 cat lovers over three days.

The screening begins at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 31, at the movie theater at 3740 E. Main St., St. Charles.

Tickets are $6 and are available to purchase through the Classic Cinemas website at www.classiccinemas.com.

The AfterImage Film Festival is an annual event serving the Fox Valley region and strives to be one of the premier film festivals in Illinois. The first AfterImage Film Festival will be held Sept. 26-29. Founded in 2018, AfterImage was formed by the dedicated volunteers of the Geneva Film Festival. The first edition of the AfterImage Film Festival will include a wide range of programming that includes both feature length and shorts, narratives and documentaries, American independents and foreign language titles.

Anderson Animal Shelter has been saving lives and serving the Fox Valley region for more than 50 years. The shelter was incorporated in 1966 as the Humane Society of North Central Illinois. In 1971, the current shelter opened its doors on five acres of land along Route 31 in South Elgin. In the 1980s, a generous donation from the Ivar and Ruth Anderson Anti Cruelty Trust prompted a name change to Anderson Animal Shelter. It receives no federal and state funding. It relies on and appreciates the generosity of our adopters, staff, volunteers, foster caregivers, community members and businesses to support its lifesaving mission.
