Prince of Peace UMC Celebrates Fourth Anniversary as Welcoming Church

On March 22, 2015 the membership of Prince of Peace United Methodist Church in Elk Grove Village voted to join a network of hundreds of Methodist churches (RMN) in welcoming the full participation of all persons, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity into the life and mission of the church.

In widening the church's welcome, members adopted this welcoming statement: "Believing in God's inclusive love, we welcome all into full participation in the congregation, regardless of age, ability, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, faith background, family configuration, or socioeconomic status."

On March 24, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. Prince of Peace UMC will celebrate its 40th anniversary as a welcoming congregation with a special speaker who will share his journey toward Prince of Peace membership. A special cake designed to celebrate the church's full welcome will be offered following the service. All are welcome!

Despite the recent rulings of the greater United Methodist Church, Prince of Peace UMC remains steadfast in its welcome to all.
