Issue questions

Q. What are the most important issues facing Fox Lake and how do you intend to address them?

One of the most important issues facing our community is updating our infrastructure. We are on the right track and with the help of our talented staff we have managed to secure funding through grants for our roads and other infrastructure projects.

Additionally, by making smart, responsible financial decisions and planning we are working and will continue on work on planning for future capital projects.

Q. What makes you the best candidate for the job?

My years of experience as a public servant as well as my willingness to continue to learn, ask questions and do research so that I can make rational decisions for the good of my community.

Q. Describe your leadership style and explain how that will be effective in producing actions and decisions with the Fox Lake village board.

Participative leadership best describes my "style" as a leader. I believe this to be an effective form of leadership as it encourages the exchange of ideas and creativity and inspires all members of the village board as well as staff and residents to contribute and feel engaged in the decision making process.

Q. How would you describe the condition of the Fox Lake budget, and what are the most important specific actions the town should take to assure providing the level of services people want?

Despite the condition of the state's budget, we have done well in managing our community's budget. To assure that we can provide the level of services people in my community want, I think it is important that we continue to make responsible decisions, support more economic develop and seek out grant opportunities.

Q. What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?

I attended a forum on mental health and it came to my attention that Fox Lake has one of the highest rates of suicide and suicide attempts in Lake County. As a community leader I believe I have a platform to raise awareness regarding this issue on a local level.
