Jim Jarog selected as Mt. Prospect Park District executive director

• Mount Prospect resident Jim Jarog was named executive director of the Mount Prospect Park District. Jarog, who has served as interim director since June 2018, is a 34-year employee of the district. He has served as the director of Parks and Planning since 2012, overseeing 450 acres of district grounds and facilities managing maintenance and repair, site development, land acquisition, grant implementation and infrastructure improvement programs.

• Schaumburg-based Lavelle Law announced that attorney Lance Ziebell has been elevated to shareholder status at the firm. Ziebell joined the firm's Litigation and Employment Law practice groups in 2008.

Over the last 11 years, Ziebell has been a major contributor to the success of the Litigation and Employment Law practice groups. And for four consecutive years, he was recognized as a Rising Star in Business Litigation by Super Lawyers Magazine.

Ziebell is a graduate of the DePaul University College of Law and Roosevelt University, He is an active member of various bar associations, including the Illinois State Bar Association and the Northwest Suburban Bar Association.

• Stacy Cunningham, a music teacher in Leyden High School District 212, is this year's recipient of the Mary Hoffman Award for Excellence in Education, conferred by the Illinois Music Education Association. The award is the organization's highest honor.

Cunningham received the Hoffman award at the Illinois Music Education Association's conference, during the opening general session, in the presence of about 2,000 Illinois music educators.

A teacher at Leyden for 17 years, Cunningham works with five curricular choral ensembles and a few independent study students each year. She created the GraceNotes and three levels of Vocal Jazz at Leyden: Jazz Choir, Vocal Jazz Ensemble and the Women of Jazz. She also is responsible for the Chamber Singers and the district's musicals. Under her direction, the Leyden choral students have toured and competed in Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Florida and New York.

• Palatine resident Dan Morrill, an associate creative director for Closerlook, in Chicago, has been recognized as a "Future Famer" by the Medical Advertising Hall of Fame for his contributions to the medical advertising community. The Medical Advertising Hall of Fame Awards event was held in New York City.

The Medical Advertising Hall of Fame Award is one of the highest distinctions given to individuals in the industry. Founded 20 years ago, the organization recognizes retired executives who have shaped the medical advertising industry through their creative and accomplishments. Individuals recognized as a "Future Famer" are those whom the Medical Advertising Hall of Fame believes are destined to someday leave their mark on medical advertising.
