Annual Chili Cook-Off and Cornbread Competition returns Feb. 28
To celebrate National Chili Day, Thursday, Feb. 28, the Kane County Farm Bureau Foundation will host its third annual Chili Cook-Off and Cornbread Competition.
Contestants arrive at 4 p.m., with judging at 4:30 p.m. It will open to the public at 5:30 p.m.
The event will be held at the Kane County Farm Bureau office, 2N710 Randall Road at Oak Street, St. Charles.
This event will help to raise funds for the nonprofit foundation, supporting Ag-in-the-Classroom learning and scholarships for local Kane County students.
This chili cook-off and cornbread competition will feature give categories for the public to sample or take home: "Best Homestyle Chili," "Best Non-Traditional Chili," "Best Wildlife Chili," "Best Vegetarian Chili" and "Best Cornbread". There is something for everyone's taste.
Your minimum donation of $5 will get you six tickets and each ticket will get you a Dixie cup of chili or a piece of cornbread. If you want to take a bowl home for later, use six tickets to do.
Stop by any time after 5:30 p.m. to support the winners and the foundation at 2N710 Randall Road at Oak Street, in front of Costco.
