Technology Grant Awarded to St. Emily School

Big changes are in store for the technology department at St. Emily School in Mount Prospect. Students, faculty and staff were thrilled to learn that the school was awarded a generous grant from Rivers Casino.

Mrs. Erin Folino, St. Emily Spanish and technology teacher, demonstrated initiative and persistence while applying for the Rivers Casino Foundation grant. The hard work paid off in a big way, when St. Emily School was awarded a $25,900 grant from Rivers Casino to update technology within the school.

With this award, faculty will receive twenty-five 125GB iPads with WiFi and covers and the student computer lab will receive 30 Lenovo E575 Thinkpads. This new technology will allow staff and students to access greater opportunities for teaching, learning and fundraising.

As technology continues to evolve in schools across the country, this grant will give St. Emily students the opportunity to embrace innovative methods within the ever-changing world of technology. We are proud that through the Rivers Casino grant, St. Emily School will continue on the path of a 21st century learning space for all. According to Folino, "The Rivers Casino Foundation Grant will be an amazing blessing for our school! It will be so exciting to continue to instruct the students in tech skills they will need for success in high school and beyond, through the use of state-of-the-art, updated laptops."
