Diverse interests tearing country apart

Regarding the letter: "Why life is better in Nordic countries than in United States":

Nordic countries have much better working democracies with socialist tones than the United States because their citizens have for the most part the same view of what they want. In general, their populations have the same basic DNA, they have not followed the path of "diversification" as occurred in most countries on the planet. They strive for basically the same things their forefathers did for hundreds of years. They are not plagued with the polarization of numerous racial, ethnic, religious, socio-economic groups tearing their countries apart.

This way of governing, especially today, is impossible in the United States, this country is too "diversified" in every form imaginable. Each of these so called "diversified" groups fight for what they believe is good or right or entitled for them and care less for what any of the other groups want or think. Communication has broken down, chaos has ensued, even the rule of law has eroded everywhere.

This country is now embroiled in an internal cold war with itself, and it did not happen overnight. It's been brewing for decades now. White against black, rich against poor, old against young, Christians against Muslims, FOX against CNN, Democrats against Republicans, and on and on. As I see it there is nothing that can be done to fix this, it's too late, the fatal damage has been done. Only one thing is for sure, great civilizations come and go, and this one is going nowhere pretty fast.
