Beat cabin fever with Cary Park District programs

The Cary Park District invites you to beat cabin fever with fun activities and programs for your kids. Sign-up is available online or in person at the Community Center, 255 Briargate Road. For information, contact the Cary Park District at (847) 639-6100 or visit carypark.com.

Yoga for All:

Reduce stress and build a healthier body! This program includes Hatha yoga postures, techniques and sequences for flexibility, strength, postural alignment, increased energy, and overall health. Beginners are welcome and encouraged to sign up. All yoga props are provided. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows for movement. The class for adults will be held from from 9 to 10:10 a.m. Fridays, March 8 to April 12 at the Community Center. Cost is $60 for residents and $90 for non-residents.

Zumba Kids Black Light Party:

Zumba Kids features the famous Zumba Fitness music, rhythms, and beats based on original Zumba choreography broken into kid-friendly routines. Giving children the outlet to jump, dance, shake, and swing their hips, it's the perfect recipe for fitness fun. Class is designed for kids ages 6-10 years. It will be held from 6:45-7:45 p.m. Friday, March 8, at the Community Center. Cost per class is $10 for residents and $15 for non-residents.

Intro to Drones:

Whether you are looking to fly drones for fun or become an FAA licensed Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) pilot, this class will get you started and on your way. First we will go over some drone safety and each student will get some simulator time to practice flying and crashing. By the last class, you will be flying your drone in all directions and hopefully doing some flips as well. Come get started in one of the fastest growing technologies today. You will receive a small training drone in class that is yours to keep. Class is for ages 14 years to adult. It will be held from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. Tuesdays, March 12 to April 9, in the Community Center. Cost is $160 for residents and $240 for non-residents.

Prepare Yourself and Your Home for Today's Real Estate Market:

Are you thinking about selling your home? Preparing and staging your home properly is the key to getting a great offer fast. Learn tips from a real estate professional and Certified staging consultant to make your home stand out against the rest. Learn to prepare for showings, open houses, home inspections, real estate contracts and more. Bring questions and pictures of troublesome areas if you'd like! Even though the class is free, please register ahead of time. The class for adults will be offered from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 13 at the Community Center.

Keyboard Fun:

Start with the basics of piano such as reading notes and counting rhythms. As students improve their skills over the 7 weeks they will begin to learn chords, practice sight reading and play pieces from classical to ragtime, pop to rock, and everything in between. Learn a skill that you can carry into your future through half hour private lesson's every Thursday between 4 and 8 p.m. The last lesson begins at 7:30 p.m. The instructor will contact each student prior to the first lesson to find a suitable time. Music books for beginners can be purchased through the instructor. There will be a student recital at the end of the course. Class is designed for ages 6 to adult. It will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursdays, March 14-May 2, at the Community Center. Cost is $124 for residents and $186 for non-residents.
