Mount Prospect agrees to demolition contract on police site

The Mount Prospect village board this week gave Camosy Construction the authority to begin demolition at 799 Biermann Court, the site of the new police headquarters, at a cost of $567,000.

Camosy is the construction manager of the project, which is an adaptive reuse of the 103,126-square-foot industrial building in the Kensington Business Center.

According to Camosy, 99 percent of the interior will be gutted and a substantial portion of the exterior wall will be removed to make way for a new facade and front entrance. Work will start within the next week, with completion slated for May. Camosy will hire McDonagh Demolition to do the demolition work.
