Wauconda Grade School holds annual Gecko Gala
On Friday, Jan. 25, Wauconda Grade School held its 12th annual Gecko Gala fundraiser.
The event was a rousing success. Although the weather was icy cold and snowy, 300 people stepped out to attend the western-themed event.
There were plenty of activities, including a mechanical bull, a high-striker strength test, 14 games, food, more than 25 raffle prizes, a DJ, and more.
The Wauconda Grade School staff did all of the prep work and manned all of the stations. The Wauconda police and fire departments supported the event by donating rides to school via fire truck and police department tours.
This event was an example of the power of working together in a partnership.
