Set sail with Long John Silver in 'Treasure Island'
ArtReach Educational Theatre, in partnership with Spotlite Theatrix Production Company, is staging "Treasure Island," based on the story by Robert Louis Stevenson.

In this adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel, young Jim Hawkins finds a map to the coveted treasure of notorious pirates and his adventure begins. Along the way, the likes of infamous pirate Long John Silver and other nefarious swashbucklers join the crew, and they set sail on the Caribbean Sea aboard the Hispaniola.
The show is directed by Dan Walsh and Jonah Parra, both of Des Plaines.
The cast includes: Thomas Tompkins (Arlington Heights) as Jim Hawkins, Kevin Foss (Palatine) as Long John Silver, Julia Barbour (Rolling Meadows) as Mrs. Hawkins and Captain Smollett, Lincoln Gersch (Palatine) as Black Dog and Dirk, Josh Gilderson (Mount Prospect) as Blind Pew, Squire Trelawney, and Hands, Neda Metidieva (Rolling Meadows) as Old Kate, and Theresa McAtee (Wheeling) as Ben Gunn and Billy Bones.
The mission of ArtReach Educational Theatre is to expose children to all aspects of theater, music and dance. ArtReach accepts any child from beginner to advanced performing levels with a genuine interest in the arts, from age 5 through high school.
