Get secrets of U.S. Census at genealogy meeting

The Kane County Genealogical Society will meet Thursday, Jan. 24, in the first-floor meeting room of the Geneva History Museum, 113 S. Third St. The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m.

"Secrets of the U.S. Census - How Did Enumeration Really Work?" will be the topic of the webinar meeting.

Participants will gain a better understanding from the perspective of both the enumerator and the enumerated how the federal census worked for particular years. With this knowledge, as a genealogist you can better evaluate the census data for your ancestors.

Thomas MacEntee will be the presenter of the webinar. He is a nationally known genealogist who has written seven genealogy books and edited close to 100 books and guides.

Visitors are encouraged to attend.

The mission of the Kane County Genealogical Society is to gather and preserve regional historical records and serve as a country-wide educational resource for those interested in genealogy.
