Village Accepting Donations for Holiday Assistance Program

Help is available for individuals and families with children living in Mount Prospect who need assistance at any time during the year through Mount Prospect's Human Services Department. Department social workers or case workers meet with the resident to determine the family's eligibility for the program.

As the holidays approach, the residents of Mount Prospect and the Human Services Department are ready to spread some holiday cheer to those in need through the Holiday Assistance Program. Donations of food items can be brought to the Human Services Department on the 2nd floor of Village Hall at 50 South Emerson Street by Friday, December 14th for the Christmas program.

The items that are most needed are listed below:

Canned Fruit/Fruit Cups

Instant Mashed Potatoes

Canned Beef Stew, Chicken & Dumplings

Crackers

Canned Meats, SPAM, etc.

Jam & Jelly

Canned Ravioli & Spaghetti

Gluten Free Items

Cereal

Sugar Free Items

Hamburger Helper

Please do not donate cans larger than 32 oz. or packages larger than 5 lbs. as our donations are given to individuals and families, thus smaller portions work best. Please keep in mind, we cannot accept expired items. For more information, please contact the Human Services Department at 847.870.5680.
