Hitting the Jackpot

Residents at Friendship Village senior living community in Schaumburg hit the jackpot last week. Approximately 40 members of the Palatine and Schaumburg Jaycees sponsored Friendship Village's Casino Night, featuring roulette, craps, black jack, big wheel, and more.

Donna Brown, lifestyles activities manager at Friendship Village said that Casino Night has been a favorite event at the community for more than 15 years, but this was the first time that the Jaycees stepped in and handled the festivities from start to finish.

"The young people from the Jaycees really infused some youth and energy into the event. It was a perfect combination of intergenerational programming, collaboration with two great area community service organizations, and fun…just plain old fun," she said.

More than 150 residents of the retirement community attended Casino Night.
