Village Accepting Shining Star Award Nominations

The Village of Mount Prospect's Special Events Commission is once again honoring individuals and organizations that have a positive impact on the community. The Shining Star Awards are presented on the basis of nomination by community leaders, business owners, community member and residents. The categories cover a wide range of interest areas and are designed especially to seek out individuals who do things that often go unnoticed. If the person you wish to nominate does not quite fit into the established categories, please create a new category.

Award categories include: Beautify Mount Prospect, Community Partner, Champion for Youth, Best Neighbor, Home Town, Living Legend and more.

The nomination form as well as a detailed list of categories and list previous winners are available at www.mountprospect.org. Forms are also available at Village Hall, 50 South Emerson Street. Nominations must be submitted in writing or online, and received no later than midnight, November 26, 2018. Winners are selected in early December and will be announced shortly thereafter.

The awards will be presented at the Shining Star Awards 26th Annual Shining Stars Gala which will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019 at The Cotillion Banquets in Palatine. For more information about the awards and event, please visit www.mountprospect.org.
