GOP coming after seniors programs
Thank you, Sen. Mitch McConnell, for admitting that the Republican huge tax cuts for the super rich and the biggest corporations and businesses (and banks, too, of course) have not left enough money in the treasury to pay the bills. (Forty percent tax cuts for those behemoths, are a bit overdone, would you say?)
So of course, his plan to get the money to pay the bills is to go after Medicare (who needs medical care?) and Social Security (and the same to any kind of fiscal relief for the entire American population). For as everyone knows, the people - in the eyes of the Republican Party - are not interested in - and will always vote against - lawfu1 Medicare - and ignore the need for any kind of old age concern for living in a stage of retirement in some relative relief with an assured income that what they have been paying for in their past 40 or 50 years of employment will be there when they can't work anymore.
Consider: as the party pols publicly swear to uphold pre-existing conditions coverage in the insurance health care policies, the party is in court trying to hold the insurance companies free from requiring the coverage. You don't think so? Ask Reps. Roskam and Hultgren.
