Island Lake cop to be honored

An Island Lake police officer who rescued an infant and a dog from a house fire in May will be publicly honored during Thursday night's village board meeting.

Officer Jason DeMark will be named the 2018 Officer of the Year. He'll also receive a lifesaving award.

The board meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at village hall, 3720 Greenleaf Ave.
