Democrat Dad would be disappointed
My Dad passed away a few years back. We did not always see eye to eye on politics with him being a Democrat and elected UAW union official and my small government, conservative to Libertarian leanings. Even with the Democrat button on his union jacket, my Dad was still a fair minded, moral moderate, who believed in God and country and would concede ideas or find middle ground. He would have disagreed with most of Trump's platform and definitely his tweets, but he would have embraced much of Trump's America First agenda as helping American workers and more importantly his union brotherhood.
I can also tell you that if he were alive today, he would be shocked and disgusted with the direction the Democratic Party has taken. The uncivil protesting, verbal and physical attacks being encouraged by the highest levels of the Democratic Party probably would have been enough to get him to sit out not only this election but consider giving up his Democrat status and register as independent.
Today more than ever we need more people like my Dad in the Democratic party.
