While on safari in Botswana we saw these two lionesses stalking a small herd of impalas. They had unbelievable patience. While we were watching them they never moved a muscle. We had to move on after waiting quite a while for them to pounce. They are beautiful animals. Paul P. Didzerekis of Wheaton

My wife and I were vacationing in Italy a couple of weeks ago. we in the Garfagnana area outside Lucca and traveled the road along the river Serchio. We came across this bridge which has a lot of lore associated with it. The official name is Ponte della Maddalena, Bridge of Mary Magdalene. It's more common name however is Ponte del diavolo, Bridge of the devil. Peter Biancalana of Winfield
This image was taken in August at Katmai National Park in Alaska. I especially like this photo since the grizzly bear seemed to be displaying his meal to me prior to enjoying it. Fishing for salmon is a common sight in this area but this pose was unique. Stephen J. DeRose of Hawthorn Woods
