Vote for candidate with integrity, experience
In response to Mary Chiappetta's and Kim Cavill's letters to the editor of the Daily Herald, Oct. 15, I say: Thank you, Chicago Tribune and The Daily Herald, for endorsing Peter Roskam. He has had many years of experience in state and national government, has collaborated with members of both parties, and has, most importantly to me, remembered that he is not speaking for himself but is representing the 6th District of Illinois.
Does it strike you as ironic that Casten is attempting to represent the very people he calls Nazis, morons and deplorables. Perhaps name-calling is the only tool he personally has, since he appears to be completely dependent on the DCCC's slick videos and their finances for broadcasting them multiple times each day.
As to his successful businessman image? In Crain's Chicago Business Sept. 26: Casten shades truth in story about business meltdown - "The Dem challenger to U.S. Rep. Peter Roskam strongly suggests investors in his failed energy company still made money. But many apparently lost. Democratic congressional candidate Sean Casten has been less than fully candid about a soured business deal that apparently left dozens of investors suffering millions of dollars in losses, financial records made available to Crain's suggest."
So I have to say, "Really. This is who you want representing you?" I wholeheartedly agree with the Chicago Tribune and the Daily Herald endorsements. I want someone with integrity, who can collaborate and treats people with respect, and works to improve life in the 6th District. Peter Roskam gets my vote.
