Prospect Ave. in Mount Prospect closing for water main replacement

Prospect Avenue from Emerson Street to Maple Street in downtown Mount Prospect will undergo temporary road closures beginning this week for the installation of a new water main.

The road will be open to two-way traffic during the morning and afternoon rush hours through the work, which is expected to be complete by Nov. 5. Construction activities may temporarily block access to driveways, officials said. Residents with special needs due to a disability are asked to contact the Public Works Department at (847) 870-5640 or publicworksdept@mountprospect.org.

Residents should also be aware that there will be a short disruption, usually less than 20 minutes, when their water service will be transferred to the new water main. Residents will receive notification prior to the service transfer.
