Bring the Kids! Public Works and Engineering to Host Touch-A-Truck and Snow and Ice Control Open House

Residents are invited to take a behind-the- scenes look at Mundelein's snow and ice control management at Mundelein Public Works and Engineering Snow and Ice Control Open House and Touch-A-Truck event on November 3 from 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at Mundelein Public Works facility 440 E. Crystal.

This family-friendly event has something for everyone. For the kids-there is the Touch-A-Truck station and salt and loader demonstrations. For adults there will be stations set-up around the garage showcasing the equipment that PW & E utilizes during winter operations and what it takes to keep it operating at peak capacity; a materials station that highlights the salt and calcium chloride that Mundelein uses to manage ice; and a storm management station that explains the steps PW & E takes to effectively manages all of Mundelein's winter storm events.

PW & E staff will be on-hand to address questions on: equipment, personnel, data analysis, materials and procurement, contractual services, safety and training, and maintenance. This open house is informative for adults and fun for the children.
