Halloween Hound Parade to Bark Through Historic Downtown Long Grove, October 28!

The inaugural Halloween Hound Parade on October 28th is set to cap-off a month full of entertaining Halloween Town festivities in historic Long Grove. Stepping off at 12 pm from Towner Green (across from Village Tavern, 135 Old McHenry Rd, Long Grove, IL 60047), pooches and their owners throughout the region are invited to don their most creative costumes and flaunt their stuff as they march through town. Prizes will be awarded for the best pet costume based on originality, behavior, and theme with human companions.

"We're putting a memorable close to Halloween Town by encouraging costumed dogs to roam the streets and howl at the moon!" exclaimed Kendra Perri with the Historic Downtown Long Grove Business Association. "With the spooky sights and old-world charms of historic Long Grove serving as the backdrop, the Hound Parade is no doubt the place to see and be seen this Halloween for four-legged creatures and their two-legged best friends!"

A panel of judges will bestow winners in several categories with various prizes and awards (i.e., best owner-pet costumes, best costumed pet duo, etc). While there is no admission to participate in the Halloween Hound Parade, registration is required in advance through http://longgrove.org/festivals/halloween-trick-or-treating/, or on-site the day-of the event. Weather permitting, the parade will start at Towner Green and proceed through town, ending in the parking lot at Buffalo Creek Brewing (360 Historical Ln, Long Grove, IL 60047). All dogs are required to be leashed. The event is co-sponsored with Renee Clark Real Estate Team @properties.

Long Grove's seasonal charms will be on full display before, during and after Halloween Hound Parade - so visitors are urged to stay, shop and dine. In recent months, Long Grove has seen an influx of exciting new business openings. What was once old is now new again as legions of people are rediscovering this historic destination town.
