The skinny

The Blues missed the playoffs by just 1 point last season, but many believe they are the most improved team in the West in 2018-19. St. Louis added Ryan O'Reilly via trade and signed Tyler Bozak and David Perron on the first day of free agency in July. Perron (16 goals, 50 assists for Vegas) is in his third go-round with the Blues. O'Reilly, meanwhile, has 55-64 points the last five seasons and now gets to center Vladimir Tarasenko. … St. Louis lost its season opener 5-1 to Winnipeg. … The Hawks went 1-2-1 vs. the Blues last season.
