Da Capo Music Studio to host ribbon cutting Oct. 13
On Saturday, Oct. 13, Da Capo Music Studio will host a ribbon cutting for their new location at 3 p.m. Their new studio is located at 870 N. Main St. in the Elburn Crossing Plaza.
When Da Capo Music Studio opened in November 2009, they occupied a small room at the Elburn Community Center, and co-owners Ben Westfall and Kristin Paxinos were the sole instructors.
Now, nine years later, they have a roster of close to 150 students; have hired 3 new instructors; added voice, saxophone, and clarinet to the list of instruments taught; and are celebrating their second move and expansion.
The new studio will feature a larger recital area for their monthly student recitals.
Since Da Capo opened, performance has been a core component of their curriculum. In 2015, they were featured in David Cutler's book "The Saavy Music Teacher," a collection of 100 successful music teachers from around the country.
Da Capo was featured in the book because they host more student recitals than any other studio in the country. Since 2010, they have hosted more than 140 recitals and will have at least a dozen more before the end of the year.
