Ram Restaurant in Schaumburg closes

The nearly 19-year-old Ram Restaurant & Brewery at 1901 McConnor Parkway in Schaumburg has closed.

A sign posted on the door thanked patrons for their years of support, referring them to the other area locations at 9520 Higgins Road in Rosemont and 700 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Wheeling.

Schaumburg Community Development Director Julie Fitzgerald said the village received no advance notice of the closing and that there are no pending applications for another use of the site.

She said the restaurant opened in early 2000.

The Ram is planning to transfer interested Schaumburg staff members to the other nearby locations, according to Jeff Iverson from the company's home office.

"We have amazing team members and leadership and we value their contributions to our company," Iverson said in a written statement. "We hope they choose to join us at our other Chicagoland restaurants."
