Grayslake Central d. Wauconda: Cassidy Beshel had 11 kills and 2 blocks, and the host Rams rallied for an 18-25, 26-24, 25-19 win in Northern Lake County action.
Grayslake Central (16-10, 3-1) also received contributions from Elisa Koshy (7 kills, 3 aces, 20 assists, 1 block), Taylor Hindman (6 kills), Emma Henne (5 kills), Kate Bullman (3 kills, 3 blocks), Abby Marassa (19 digs, 3 aces) and Emily Friday (2 kills, 2 blocks).
"It was a total team effort tonight against a very much-improved Wauconda team," Grayslake Central coach Jason Janczak said. "I am proud of how well our girls responded to the offense that Wauconda threw at us. Everyone contributed to tonight's win."
Wauconda (6-18, 1-3) was led by Nicole Callahan's 10 kills, Erika Kraml's 6 kills and Savannah Johnson's 13 digs, 10 assists, 3 kills and 2 aces. Emma Miller added 4 kills and 3 aces for the Bulldogs.
Lakes d. Round Lake: The host Eagles won 25-15, 25-19 in Northern Lake County action, as Ashley Smith had 7 kills and 1 ace.
Devinn Bell dished out 15 assists and added 5 digs for Lakes (10-4, 3-0). The Eagles' other contributors included Paule Ceneac (6 kills, 1 block), Abby Vanderwall (1 ace, 10 digs), Kelli Rettig (5 kills, 11 digs), Faith Conway (7 assists), Sara Smith (2 kills) and Keelan Bell (3 kills).
