Mount Prospect offering free emergency preparedness class

Mount Prospect is offering residents a free citizen emergency preparedness training course beginning Wednesday, Oct. 3.

The 20-hour course educates residents about disaster preparedness for hazards that could impact the area, and trains them in basic disaster response skills. The classes are a mixture of classroom and hands-on training, in topics including fire safety, first aid, light search and rescue, storms and weather and disaster planning.

This seven-week training course takes place from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday evenings until November 14. Classes take place at Mount Prospect Fire Station 14, 2000 Kensington Road, Mount Prospect.
