NHL player makes appearance at youth hockey fundraiser
Former NHL first round draft pick of the Chicago Blackhawks Ryan Hartman gave back to the local hockey community where he developed his skills.
On Wednesday, Aug. 29, Hartman volunteered his time from 5 to 8 p.m. for an autograph signing appearance hosted at Bar Down Sports Grill in Hoffman Estates to benefit local kids ages 4-18 playing hockey within the Hoffman Estates Park District's Wolfpack & Timberwolves.
Voluntary donations were made by guests attending the event, and Bar Down Sports Grill matched donations to help offset costs for local youth hockey players.
Hartman grew up in West Dundee and played his youth hockey throughout the Chicago suburbs.
Thank yous go to Awesome Hand Gaming in Rolling Meadows for assisting the event; Gigi's Playhouse/Hugs + Mugs, Hoffman Estates, for providing complimentary frozen gelato for guests; and Paulson Press, Inc., Elk Grove Village, for providing 8-by-10 glossy photos for signing by Hartman.
If you would like to make a donation to the Hoffman Estates Park District's youth hockey programs, contact Randy Jordan at (847) 285-5501 or rjordan@heparks.org.
