Fox Valley police reports

Carpentersville

• A $1,300 concrete saw, a $2,000 electric concrete breaker, two $300 saws, two $500 hammer drills, a $200 grinder and a $1,600 leveling tool were reported stolen Monday from a truck parked on the 0-100 block of Walnut Street.

• Angel Savala, 21, of Elgin, was charged Sunday with retail theft, Carpentersville police said. He is accused of stealing $54 worth of merchandise from Walmart on Lake Marian Road.

• Maricruz Ortiz, 18, of Elgin, was charged Sunday with retail theft, Carpentersville records show. She is accused of stealing $48 worth of merchandise from Walmart.

• Mieko M. Abrams-Mitchell, 49, of Elgin, was charged Sunday with retail theft, Carpentersville police said. She is accused of stealing two packages of muffins, valued at $8 total, from Walmart.

• The living room window of a residence on the 0-100 block of Birch Street and the rear window of a vehicle parked in front of the home were shattered by bricks about 4 a.m. Saturday.

Geneva

• Two residents on the 1500 and 1600 block of Fairway Court reported to police that two men were trying to break into cars overnight on Sept. 9.

• A $150 red and white mountain bike was reported stolen at 2:40 p.m. Sept. 10 from the 100 block of Woodward Avenue.

• A purse, wallet, sunglasses, gift cards, a key fob and gift cards were reported stolen from a vehicle on the 800 block of Geneva Drive at 4:22 p.m. Aug. 23 after its passenger's-side window was smashed for a total estimated loss of $400.

• A cellphone, key fob and garage door opener were stolen between 10 p.m. Sept. 1 and 6 a.m. Sept. 2 from a vehicle on the 400 block of West Lane.
