Prince of Peace to Share Music at HymnFest

Musicians will be gathering at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Schaumburg on Sept. 22 for a special event, which will culmintate with a concert open to the general public.

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Schaumburg will be hosting Hymnfest, an event that studies and celebrates Lutheran church music. The event is sponsored by the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians.

Hynmfest will feature workshop sessions that include choral reading led by Dr. Charles Brown from Concordia University River Forest, a roundtable talk with under-30 music leadership, and a hymn festival led by Daniel Schwandt.

The day's events start with registration at 8:30 am, and sessions for registrants only will end at 4 pm. At that time, a concert will be performed for anyone who would like to attend. There is no charge for the concert, but a free will offering will be accepted.
