Village seeks input on 'South Mount Prospect' plan

Mount Prospect is hosting a second open house for public comment on the Draft South Mount Prospect Sub-area Plan from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, at the Community Connections Center 1711 W. Algonquin Road.

The plan sets short and long-term goals, policies and strategies for addressing and guiding future development for the next 10+ years in the area south of Golf Road, west of Elmhurst Road, north of I-90 and east of the village border. It will complement the 2017 Comprehensive Plan, while looking at key parcels in detail and reviewing major corridors within the study boundaries.

Village staff also will be seeking input from the community at the inaugural Celebration of Cultures event at Kopp Park, located behind the RecPlex, 420 Dempster St. from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29.
