Girls volleyball: Fremd goes to 9-1 with win at Lake Zurich

Fremd's girls volleyball went on the road on Monday night and posted its ninth triumph in 10 matches by defeating Lake Zurich 25-23, 25-22 in the nonconference match.

Leading the Vikings' attack was senior Heidi Sayre, who put down 10 kills. Breslin Reid added 7 and Peyton Hooker 6.

Setting the Vikes' offense were Rian Baker (14 assists) and Lydia Vander Ark (7 assists) while Maddie Aichinger anchored the back row with 8 digs.

Baker (4) and Sayre (2) were top blockers for Fremd, which visits Hoffman Estates on Tuesday for a Mid-Suburban League West match.
